The role of a Lead Speaker has the same qualifications than the role of a Speaker, with the only difference being that they are chosen by the Fallen Witches themselves after the new Speakers complete their silence vow.

Appointment

No one is really allowed to talk about how the Fallen Witches chose them as the Lead Speaker, but in most cases the chosen Speaker will receive a vision of a personal moment they consider a failure but that they overcame. After that everything will go back to normal, and in the morning, after the vow is complete and the former Speakers come there will be one Speaker with a silver marking in their wrist. That will be the new Lead Speaker.

Duties

Alongside with their usual Speaker duties the Lead Speakers should help other Tamers and Speakers to overcome their differences and respect the others, no matter where they come from or who they are. They are the ones who are supposed to manage the sessions in the Council of Whispers while also maintaining the peace between it´s members.

Responsibilities

The Lead Speaker should be able to deal with the problems that the other Speakers can´t, they are also supposed to check that everyone is doing what they should. And they are supposed to take the final word or decision when the Council has reach a dead end or tie. They also have to take care of their Speaker responsibilities.

Benefits

The Lead Speaker is the most powerful figure in Myridiam which bring a lot of political benefits and helps to establish many relationships, it also grants certain status to the family from where the Lead Speaker came from. In the monetary aspect they have the same income as Speakers and another benefit is that they have access to absolutely all the information in Myridiam.

Accoutrements & Equipment

A Lead Speaker wears the same things a Speaker does, preferably wearing their Magical Division assigned colors in their clothes and the jewel of the Fallen Witch they represent.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

A Lead Speaker can only be removed when all the Speakers pass their tittles and the new Speakers are presented.

History

The tittle of Lead Speaker was made when the Council of Whispers began, it was mainly created for there not being a tie when the Speakers had to take an important decision. That way a Lead Speaker could dissolve the argument and decide what to do without having much more problems.

Cultural Significance

The Lead Speaker is the most powerful figure in Myridiam outside of the Fallen Witches. They are usually the ones who have the last word in the Council of Whispers and therefore the one who takes some of the most important decisions in all Myridiam, they are also considered the closest Tamer to the Fallen Witches themselves.

Notable Holders

All Lead Speakers are notable holders, but throughout history most of them have been Soul Tamers, shortly followed by Shifting Tamers. And thanks to this they are the most remembered ones in most cases.
