Amrans

A two foot tall flowering plant with white and red buds, these buds are extremely delicate and are a key ingredient in the creation of health potions.

Basic Information

Anatomy

A thick, green, branching stem w/ drooping "branches". White and red teardrop buds at the end of the "drooping" branches.

Genetics and Reproduction

Careful Pollination via bees and select insects.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Amrans plant does most of its growing in the first two weeks of spring and begins to produce it's buds around 4 weeks. The buds are considered fully grown at around 2 to 3 months but continue to grow until they fall off and seed once they are too heavy for the plant to hold. The stem withers in fall and eventually crumbles, leaving behind only its roots, to begin the process all over again next year.

Temperate Zones. Specifically, Amrans can be located growing close to rivers and usually inhabits rural areas.

Biological Cycle

During winter the roots of Amrans are all that remain. Amrans begin to sprout early spring and when fully grown it produces buds that fall off when they grow too big.

Amran buds are known for their miraculous ability to speed the natural healing cycle of a creature. The fully grown delicate red and white buds can be prepared into healing potions if properly prepared. The harvest from a single Amrans plant is commonly priced at 50 gold pieces. Brewing times and potion potency are generally dependent on the amount of Amran Buds are used in the potion.
