Cosmos

The Mother Goddess Cosmos

Also known as The Mater Deora, or the Mother Goddess, in Scaeferdism and Apotheanism, and Orda in Thanahhaism. Cosmos is the recognized creator goddess in the Sceaferd-Apotheanist religions of the world.   In the Mater Byblos of the Sceaferd religion the Thirteenth Deorim Oppokus is the first to mention her, confirming that the Deorum were not gods, but rather the guardians of the goddess: the creator of the universe known. Cosmos is said to be ruling from her throne in He'av, where she is said to bring all souls who were kind and noble in life to her Hearth in the Sky. The Final Promise to Her Children, as decreed by Oppokus, states Cosmos would bring all her beloved children who believe in her to pass onto her side so that they are protected from the hordes of Fal'Cie without when their souls are in the afterlife. The goddess stated she would not let them see her so that her children would use their faith to determine their will to believe in goodness, and thus in her.   To this day, Apotheanism, Scaeferdism, along with Thanahhaism, have spread across Mundus as the major three religions in great part thanks to her teachings of love above all things and courage in the face of despair.   For Scaeferdists, the Mater Deorsa is a compassionate goddess that made creation with the intention of driving off the night but, in her endless wisdom, instead chose to allow evil to exist so that goodness would be better understood and woke the elves to self-realization of their mistakes.    For Apotheanists, Cosmos made the universe to drive off the endless night but did not do so due to the original sin of Hu, and instead made a separate realm of Heav where those that repent would be sent to after their death.    For Thanahhaists, Orda who made the universe disguised herself with different names for different enlightened people, but in the end chose to reveal herself as the one goddess that would bring all races together to live in harmony under her reign. Orda, Cosmos, Mater Deorsa: they are one and the same and were known by the people of Mundus as a means to bring all peoples under the Sun of Bangaais.
