Republic of Nasrodia

The Republic of Nasrodia is one of the superpowers on the supercontinent of Pagia in Munda. It is one of the few countries left on Pagia to have not yet been engulfed by desertification, and commanded by their First Marshal, Nasrodia proudly defends its territory from potential invaders, while also seeking to annihilate the opponents it deems unworthy of existing.

History

The Republic of Nasrodia was born out of a union of large city-states long ago. With some of the best scientists on Pagia at the time, Nasrodia was able to predict the egregious effects that pollution and overfarming would have on its population, and do something about it. As a result, with measures enacted early on by a strong-willed and firm-handed government, Nasrodia was able to save itself from becoming victim to the desertification and ecological collapse which the rest of the supercontinent would be hit by. Nasrodia therefore continued as a relatively prosperous nation, with the success of the Nasrodian government earning widespread trust among its population. In time more and more authority was given to the government, and the Republic of Nasrodia soon found itself as a dictatorship ruled by the First Marshal; although a rather prosperous one at that.   Nevertheless, Nasrodia kept its ambitions, and frequently tried to expand, hoping to export its model across the rest of the world. All countries other than itself were seen as incompetent, corrupt and rotten to the core, largely responsible for the ruining of Pagia, and had to be pushed aside, by force as was often necessary, and replaced with itself. In the fallout of the Great Sundering, Nasrodia expanded greatly, conquering many of its neighbours now that there was no major force to counteract it. By the time the Tolméhrian Empire was founded, the Republic Nasrodia was the largest faction on Pagia, possessing plenty of territory on the supercontinent, and also the inevitable colonies established on other landmasses.

Military

The Nasrodian military is one of the largest in Munda, with a size comparable to that of the Empire of Tolméhria's. Alongside its enormous hordes of ground troops, artillery and armour, it possesses thousands of aircraft for all sorts of roles, and even a navy of sorts. The Nasrodian military also possesses the second best protection gear in the world against chemical weapons, along with some of the most deadly chemical weapons as well (though these are rarely ever used).

Religion

Nasrodia is an atheistic nation, believing that religion provided a dogma that would allow its citizens to divert from the state.

Foreign Relations

Biron Due to Biron's mere existence as an industrial mining-driven faction, Nasrodia naturally disapproves of Biron. The fact that Biron is a key supplier of the Tolméhrian war industry further compounds this fact; Nasrodia is effectively at war against Biron, often launching bombing raids into their territory.   Tolméhrian Empire Nasrodia and Tolméhria are at war, and have been for effectively decades ever since the former's founding. The Republic of Nasrodia views the Empire of Tolméhria as an inherently rotten institution responsible for the ecological catastrophe it and much of Pagia has fallen into, which has to be done away with by force; while the Tolméhrians seek to capture and settle in Nasrodia's relatively green land.

Agriculture & Industry

In order to preserve its environment, Nasrodia developed a very capable biochemical industry early on. As a result, Nasrodia is now the only faction on Pagia to maintain a large number of farms and orchards for growing crops, along with fisheries in its relatively unpolluted waters, whereas most other factions have to resort to producing food in laboratories, along with intensive factory farming in unimaginably poor conditions. Nasrodia as well is capable of producing food chemically; but due to not needing to be completely dependent on it, with chemically produced food only being a stopgap so that overfarming wouldn't cause desertification, it is less developed in this field.    Nasrodia's industry is also less heavily developed compared to factions like Tolméhria, with less overall factories and mines. However, it is more than self-sufficient. In the regions of Nasrodia which have become desert - mostly to the west - there are numerous mines and other resource extraction facilities, with an emphasis on going deeper into the earth instead of covering more area.
