The Sworn is a secret yet powerful organization that rose up soon after the last Great Dragon War, A war that caused the extinction of the Dragons well over a thousand years ago. No one knows much about the origins of The Sworn and many believe it was created by a hero of the past that fought in this war. Either way The Sworn for all of about 1,700 years has been at the epicenter of global scale conflicts and has had a hand in influencing the major powers of the world. The Sworn has been responsible for the deaths of Kings and Emperor's, has caused the rise and fall of entire nations. One would not be wrong to assume that The Sworn has had an influence on most of the world from the shadows rarely ever coming to light no matter how many nations, people, factions, or even powerful warriors try to find them. There are bits of information that has come up in the last several hundred years that grants us insight into The Sworn and who they are.
Firstly The Sworn is an organization focused on what they call "betterment of society" in their eyes they are people who seek and root out what they deem as corruption in a sense you could say they are vigilantes and seek to reform the world. They are very private to the point where each of The Sworn are given fake names to go by when partaking in the actions of the organization and no one in the organization, except for those above you, know who you are your identity is a mystery. All members are given appropriate ways to conceal their identity firstly with there fake name and then even concealing what one looks like behind cloth and masks. The masks are important in the sense as they also represent your rank at the bottom for the newest members is The Mask of the Boar it is a plain white mask that looks like a boar there are red lines that go down the face beneath the eyes but this is all there is to it. This mask represents the newest or the recruit members usually still in training before they receive their promotion. We know little about ranks above this one there is A Mask of the Ox and of the Bear but we know little about these ranks or people in them. The next thing to note is how The Sworn even gets their members, most every member comes from recruiters who are simply members of The Sworn who live out a normal type of life in search of potential candidates that can be recruited in which case they will contact the potential candidate in secret not revealing their true identity and offer them a chance to join. The way they maintain members is less enthusiastic as many members often times remain there on a share of expenses given by The Sworn as well as their willingness to change the world. The Sworn looks for secrecy from its members and trust first and foremost as maintaining secrecy is an important aspect in The Sworn however there are likely some who have left in an attempt to reveal much of this information which would explain why some of the former members of The Sworn have been killed likely in an attempt to keep information a secret. Little is known about the organization in general but many have speculated that it was created by Veriticus The First Emperor of Shul'Bar (The Empire in the Sands) and a powerful spell-caster who was one of the major players in The Dragon War and its end, however, there is little evidence to support that claim and one likely will never know.
