Reinel, a mostly human populated province of the Elven Empire, denounced their king, Citing centuries of Abuse, Negligence, and Mass Deportation (to Reinel from their ancestral homes) They made the claim that the Elven Empire was built on the backs of mankind and declared independence from the Elven Empire, resulting in a seven year siege, in which the Mages of the city made the farms flourish while the Elven troops starved outside the city walls. Reinel was then recognised as its own Kingdom by the Elven Monarchy
