Greater Fae

Long ago, Humans live along side several closely related species. The Neanderthal, Greater Fae, Djinn as well as another. This is about the Greater Fae

In the older tales when Gods were talked about as literal entities, as oppose to being metaphorical constructs or house spirits--these tales were usually about Greater Fae. As is many tales of great humanoid creatures that exist in many different folklore. When Gilgamesh was talking about being two thirds God--this meant he was two thirds Greater Fae. Though--back then Greater Fae referred to themselves as Gods... Humans on the other hand kind of got confused about what the term meant--and Gods went on to mean something different. Greater Fae ended up just adopting the term "Greater Fae"

The world is not one dimension--and some people have the ability to move between a different set of dimensions than others. This is what ultimately set the Fae apart from Humans and Neanderthals. Most of their technologies and discoveries became more based upon this alternate set of physical movements they are capable of doing--along with the Djinn being able to make their own set of alternative movements. The Greater Fae made their own narratives to explain why they were doing what they were doing.

As time went on, the Greater Fae moved away from the Humans. Mostly as a side effect of them being able to move in that direction, and Humans not being able to move that way. With them not really understanding why Humans were not able to follow them. Assuming it meant that Humans were being rude. This feeling of disdain for Humanity being too rude to be bothered to follow them, is what lead to them setting up separate empires in places that they were just waiting for Humans to follow them. Sometimes they jumped the gun and thought Humans had successfully followed them--but the Humans not being able to move how Greater Fae move behaved in ways that the Greater Fae misinterpreted as mocking and making fun of them.

Eventually, the Greater Fae managed to figure out that Humans were not mocking them or making fun of them--so much as were unable to follow. However, at that point, the insult the Greater Fae felt about Humans was far too prevailant for anything to be done about it. With them generally being, not so much vane and arrogant... just not really aware that how they handle stuff is unique or special. Mixed with bad self-esteem... creates for some odd social interactions.

Basic Information

Anatomy

They are humans except most of their body parts are bigger. Because they are not fully in phase with the same dimensions as humans--only parts of the body parts are seen... making them seem unreasonably thin.

Biological Traits

They have an allergy to metal--that while it results in the metal heating up and melting, it feels cold to the touch. Creating a burn that to them is similar to having a bad case of frost bite called "Metal Bite". The more the metal heats up to burn them, the more it feels cold to their touch. The air feels somewhat warm around it--but the metal chills and cauterises their flesh.

Genetics and Reproduction

Because their movement is not the same as humans--their body parts tend to not be found in similar locations. So reproduction tends to look like somebody having sex with a tree, or something like that, from a human perspective. From their perspective it looks like normal sex.

From their perspetive human sex looks fairly disjointed as well

Ecology and Habitats

They make a high level of use of biological technology and agricultural technology--due entirely to their allergy towards metal, they've found ways around making use of metal in electrical circuits, the making of buildings and structures, construction of bombs--and many other elements. Their homes tend to resemble over grown forests... but they are pretty much just industrial towns that use biology instead of metal.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Fairly similar to how humans eat... except sweeter.

Biological Cycle

A longer time to get to sexual maturity--and a longer life span, ultimately results in them not understanding seasons like how humans do. They do view things as cycles--with bad cycles referring to the entire years that the females are on the rag.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Their ears are usually pointy. Their eyes look different because their eyes focus in different spacial dimensions

Geographic Origin and Distribution

All over the globe

Average Intelligence

Their average IQ is about the same as the average human IQ.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Able to see in a different set of physical dimensions, hearing is based on a limited set compared to humans, high levels of psionic powers, metal sense (metal burns them due to a common allergy)

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Lots... including many STIs that are beyond human comprehension

Civilization and Culture

Average Technological Level

A ridiculously large level of biological technology. Including automated computation devices constructed from wood, photosynthesis based transistors (as oppose to vacuum tubes or semiconductors), RNA based nanobots and a wooden slave race of wooden robots.

History

A divergent species of humans that were not aware they had abilities most of the humans could not do. This snowballs into some really awkward spats and interactions.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

They tend to assume other groups are making fun of them, if things are not straight forward and easy
