Angel Island, sometimes referred to as Floating Island, is a 200,000 square mile landmass in the southern hemisphere of Mobius-2. It floats in the sky using the eternal energy of the Master Emerald. Without it, Angel Island would plummet from the sky. The island is inhabited by various species of animals and is also the home of Knuckles the Echidna. This island was once the home of the ancient Echidna tribe. Like Farsouth Island and Westside Island, the environment here is highly variable, with forests, icy mountains, and deserts.
Hundreds of thousands of years ago, Angel Island was part of the Mobitanian continent, where it was the location of the Altar of the Emeralds, containing the Master Emerald and its Chaos Emeralds. One night, one of the Echidna tribe members enacted a plan that he'd soon regret. He stormed the Emerald Altar and stole the Chaos Emeralds to give himself power. However, one of the village girls discovered him before he could get away with it, and sounded the alarm. In a moment of rage and desperation, the thief echidna killed the village girl violently, thus calling upon the wrath of the God of Creation, Chaos. The tremors caused by Chaos's awakening separated Angel Island from the main continent, taking away its anchoring and allowing it to fly into the air.
Enraged at the thief echidna's actions, Chaos swiftly killed him and most of the remaining Echidna tribe members for letting this happen. The survivors had to live the best they could on the now floating island, and all eventually succumbed to starvation and exposure. After his moment of wrath, Chaos resealed himself in the Master Emerald and has lain dormant since. Angel Island now sits at a point about 5 miles up, above the clouds and casting a dark shadow on the sea below. Knuckles' parents were some of the last remaining echidnas and as such, were determined to leave one last survivor of the tribe to look over the island. That one last survivor was Knuckles.

The only things I miss here is some division into sections, e.g. Description, Origin and some more info into what is happening there right now and/or how was it used by the survivors after "the detachment". Aside from this, the work is nice and has some interesting anchor points for the plot (there is much to be speculated upon, Knuckles, his tending of the island, the power of Chaos and how it influenced the life on the island). It's inspiring. Thank you!
