The New Calendar (Text)

Invented in the closing hours of Calvard's new found arcane sovereignty away from its Imperial tyrants, the New Calendar takes its name after being a titular 'New' replacement for the old Imperial dating system, which they no longer wished to use. The Calendar system is easy to pickup and understand thanks to its emphasis around the number '10' by design, which Calvard considered lucky.   The Calendar removes all monarchist, religious, and historical references to the old Imperial culture that they were once adherent to. Following a principle of decimalisation and academic poetry as an attempt to revive a remembrance of fallen cultural values, the New Calendar now sees use in most all official occupations throughout not just Calvard, but most of its neighboring states in Miralh.   The Calendar begins as of the date in which Calvard was transported to Miralh, a day which is celebrated as a holiday there known as "Deliverance," or "Dfriel."

Document Structure

Clauses

Every month is structured into a set of 30 days, split between ten Decades (weeks). A Decade is annotated with a 1ᴰ, 2ᴰ, or 3ᴰ. In each Decade, the days are named as follows: 1. Primday 2. Duoday 3. Trimday 4. Quarday 5. Quinday 5. Sexday 6. Septday 7. Octday 8. Nonday 10. Decaday   All years are prefaced with "Anno" and are then written in an Imperial Numeral. (The alphabet was retained, even if the dating system was changed.)   Thus, the final dating system is "Primday, 1ᴰ Pluvios, Anno Ⅰ."   Deliverance is Duoday, 2ᴰ Pluvios.
