Academi vei Calvard, the Calvard Academy

he city-state of Calvard is among the more remote of the lot that inhabit Miralh, brought in not by circumstance, but by choice rather; as per an agreement between the ancient Arch-Librarius, Esther Orasmyn, and the governing then-Imperial Locality of Calvard Authority, the city was delivered from a distant land and placed in what would end up becoming the first of many endemic settlements to grace Mirahl's ever-changing surface. For such a city however, it needed a dedicated force to care for it in a new, unfamiliar position. Without much help from the "Imperial" aspect of its name, the governing Locality was quick to drop it from its title altogether, and convene with the best scholars the city had at the time of the deliverance into a new plane. Together—largely spearheaded by the Arch-Librarius herself—Calvard elected to take a broader stance on safeguarding the peculiar realm of Mirahl in a more... adequate fashion.   The Academi vei Calvard (Calvard Academy), was the solution to Calvard's elevation from an Opes Minoris-class City-state to an Opes Majoris-class City-state, by the obsolescence of the city's dated Imperial Civilization Index rating. The Academy was a large-scale construction project that was built atop Calvard's greatest landmark prior to its planar transference, the Orasmyn Library, paid largely out of her own bountiful purse. It was projected that the Academy would, upon its fulfilled completion, assume a direct suzerain status with the Locality in order to better prepare for Calvard's future moving forward. Upon its full completion however, the structure would stand as a tantamount beginning for securing Calvard's future generation to come. As a fountain of knowledge for the first youth to come into an entirely new demiplane, the Academy would serve as a new opportunity for the wealthy to invest in their children's futures by giving them far, far more than a good read of peaceful days now gone. These students, dubbed quite humorously as "Adventurers," would breathe a new life into the old Library that once was that made Esther's investment irrefutably worth every coin.   The Academy has stood for 15 years since its founding, ushering in approximately 7 successful graduating Classes with only 1 dreadfully unsuccessful one penned on an irreconcilable account that only the most trustworthy of Masters today can recall. It's organization is as thorough as its vast arrangement of knowledge donated so generously by the House of Orasmyn at Esther's behalf; assuming the position of Headmaster to preside over the various specialized Masters, or Professors, Esther still presides over her institution to this day, albeit with a very subdued and relaxed disposition in mind. She, like many of Calvard's aging leadership, desires only the same homely peace for her family that she intends to give her entire hometown going forward.   More details specifically regarding the Academy's many facets of organization, enrolled attendees and general life on campus can be found within further chapters of this anthology..

History

Calvard Academy was officially founded on Nonday, 3ᴰ Bruma, Anno Ⅰ; it took a total of 59 days since the advent of the New Calendar for the facility to be constructed, and ever since has been operational. Staff have been recruited not just from endemic Calvard scholars born from the knowledge of the Orasmyn Library, but also from other city-states which have been identified throughout Mirahl.   Many of the events that surround Calvard Academy's past graduating Classes is covered in greater detail in another section of this anthology..
