Greater Spirittearer - Bloodcry

Nobody really knows who "Bloodcry" was, nobody remembers what they did or why these despicable Snatchers have been named after them. The only thing we know quite well is that these creatures don't kill on sight. They kidnap and drain one's vitality until there's nothing left but a lifeless body, stuck in an endless nightmare.
— Tsancor, gryphon shaman
When the barrier between the Physical Realm and Dreamscape is too thin, in places of strong connection with an anchor - such as a malicious Shaman or inexperienced Dreamglider - there, a terrifying being can be beckoned to cross over, usually at the cost of life of the Beckoner.   Greater Spirittearers are rare, almost mythical creatures, who predate on intelligent beings. There are many different kinds that have been depicted and Bloodcry is one of them.   With two pairs of forelimbs for impaling and grasping their victim, Bloodcry singles out a lone prey and brings them to a dark hideout where it will slowly drain all of their Dreams. This process may take several days and leaves its victim no longer able to operate within the Physical realm, bond between their Dream and body severed.   Bloodcry Spirittearers also have a lure atop their horned forehead, which confuses and dulls any intelligent being looking into it. This makes any direct confrontation against them extremely dangerous.

Weaknesses

The only recorded method of scaring off these Spirit-tearers is with bright light. The six eyes atop their head are extremely well suited for darkness and sensing heat, but are completely blind in direct sunlight or near open flames.    Should it come to direct confrontation, being as loud as possible or producing loud noises disorients these tearers too. It is impossible to completely kill it with physical injuries, only send it back into Dreamscape, where it will wait till it gets summoned again.

History

Bloodcry was a Parash Fire Dragon, one of the first ones after the great Sundering. Rumors at the time suggested Bloodcry was separated from his family, and struck with grief so great, he started kidnapping offspring of others. Though little is known about what happened to the actual dragon, some say that his spirit remains stuck in the Dreamscape, unable to pass on, twisted in his desire to find his mate and offspring.
