Goods and Services - gem cost overview

This list provides a rough estimate of gem prices for those looking to roleplay within the world of Midrast Wain. Anything from services to purchase of goods can be found here - and if you have further needs on knowing the price of anything - leave me a comment below and I will 'find it out' for you!   Keep in mind that the gem costs can vary on many factors - scarcity and demand can drive prices up and down. Each dragon and gryphon is natively born with Hoarding instinct which means - they can innately tell the value of each gem they are receiving during purchase.    

Basic goods and services

Items of interest to many during their everyday life.

Rent a room 1 per day For travellers who wish to have shelter while sleeping. Applies to areas where no natural caves are readily available and homes must be constructed - typically tribes living in plains, forested and jungle areas
Courier service - shared 0.5 Price to send a message via a courier. Courier will usually only travel with multiple shared assignments. The flight paths should not exceed half a day of travel.
Courier service - private 4 Price to hire a courier. Courier will depart as soon as they can.
Courier service - specialist 10 Price to hire a specialist courier across long distances or dangerous routes.
Servant - construction 3 per day Price per day to hire a Servant trained in construction works. Does not include materials.
Servant - helper 2 per task Price to hire a Servant to perform ordinary manual tasks, such as cleaning, carrying heavy objects and others.
Servant - companion 2.5 Price of companion services for lonely individuals, seeking to engage in deep conversations with someone attractive.
Shudue extract 1.5 Medicine of pain-numbing effect. Can be prepared into a tea or as an ointment.
Tattooing (Dragons) 20 Dragons can decorate their scales and hide with tattoos. Price can vary from 10 - 80 gems, based on complexity of the tattoo. Performed by skilled Wingbinders
Permanent dye (Gryphons and Jungles) 20 Fuzzy and feathered Midrastians can enhance their appearance with permanent dye. This dye requires expert application by skilled painters. Price can vary from 10 - 80 gems, based on complexity of the decoration and number of dyes used.

Artifice - Minor 35 The cost of enhancing an ordinary weapon with a basic enchantment (a single bonus)
Artifice - Major 100 The cost of enhancing an ordinary weapon with a remarkable enchantment (2 bonuses)
Artifice - Masterwork 200 The cost of enhancing an ordinary weapon with awe-inspiring enchantments (3 bonuses)
Artifice - Shoddy -25 Items with misfired enhancements on them are discounted. (a single penalty)
Slayer contract - Ordinary stuff 5 per hunter Price to hire a highly qualified hunter to take down a dangerous animal or clear a nest of moderately dangerous ones.
Slayer contract - Crazy stuff 20 per hunter Price to hire a highly qualified hunter to take down a highly lethal animal or a group of dangerous animals.
Escort 4 per day Price of hiring a Clawstopper as an escort of goods or individuals.
Dream consultation Voluntary Shamans and Dreamgliders can offer counseling and tips for mental fortitude
Cultural performance 0.5 entrance fee For storytelling, singing, dancing and other types of entertainment performed before masses. In smaller tribes, a set fee can be arranged instead.
Religious performance 1 entrance fee For certain rituals, priests and shamans can collect a fee for their services. Usually includes Celebrations of passing for the dead or Celebrations of waking for the newborn.
 

Specialized goods

Goods of interest to many, yet few can afford them.

Alcohol - bowl of beer/mead 0.3 Can be provided as part of Regular or Quality meals. Price range can vary but shouldn't exceed 1 gem
Alcohol - bowl of wine 1.5 Price range shouldn't exceed 5 gems
Armor - Leather 65 Crafted only within Jungle dragon territories, cannot go underwater. Wearable by S sized Midrastians
Armor - Reinforced leather and bone 90 Crafted only within Jungle dragon territories, cannot go underwater. Wearable by S sized Midrastians
Bags - Pouches 10 Two small pouches that can be worn around one's neck, legs or sides
Bags - Leather bag 30 A large sack that can be carried on one's back, usually is tied around neck or attached to straps.
Bags - Strapped saddlebags 100 This heavy baggage comes with a series of leather straps that attach onto an individual in such a way that it makes flight impossible but allows them to carry very heavy or large objects. Most commonly used by Mud dragonesses. Cannot be donned without help.
Delivery - General goods 30 Average Value of goods a single individual is able to carry. This generally refers to items that can easily be carried without impeding flight - such as a kill from a successful hunt, clay bowls wrapped in leather, simple tools, herbs, mushroom etc.
Delivery - Rare goods 60 Average Value of luxurious goods a single individual is able to carry. This generally refers to items that can easily be carried without impeding flight - such as spices, tea, alcohol, weaponry, rare metals.
Helmet - leather/hardwood 30 Offers protection not only for the head but also partially for the back of the wearer's neck
Helmet - Sheetstone 55 Offers roughly the same protection but looks more intimidating
Helmet - Skull 100 Carved out of the skull of a large dinosaur, the most difficult part is finding a big enough dinosaur that will part with their head.
Paint - Festive 0.2 per individual Cost of being painted festively. Most commonly used for festivals and celebrations.
Paint - War 0.5 per individual Cost of being painted fearsomely. Most commonly used by Clawstoppers before heading into battle.
4 bowls of tea 1 Ayliith has her own tea supplier
Weaponry - Basic 8 gems 8 Generally made from simple materials, such as wood, bones, claws and teeth
Weaponry - Quality 16 Generally made from more durable materials, such as hardwood and stone.
Weaponry - Metallic 30 Generally made from the best materials available, such as flint, iron or bronze
Shrapnel bomb 15 Ceramic or clay bomb which will detonate based on alchemical reaction triggered either by heat or smashing the bomb on a hard surface. Don't leave in direct sunlight for too long.
