Aggersborg

Aggersborg is a large ring castle on the north side of Limfjord. When built, it had 48 longhouses total, 12 per quadrant, capable of housing 5,000 men. It was protected by four-foot ditch and a 13-foot rampart of oak-enforced earth. The fortress was long abandoned before Ragnarok, but was occupied by Danes and Norse fleeing the north. In-fighting led to the death of most of the men and the destruction of much of the fortress, but rumor has it that one quadrant was restored, and held, even against the giants and the roaming dead.
