With a knowing smile, the bard pauses to allow the audience to laugh at the gentle mocking of the inn-keeper he had included in the song. He flicks his unruly dark locks from his eyes and sweeps his finely embroidered cape in a flash of colour, before beginning the chorus again. Delighted, the patrons of the inn join in with enthusiasm, if not musicality.
Soon the song is finished and customers are returning to their pints. The bard moves from table to table in quiet conversation with those in the bar. A gentle question and feigned surprise bring a waterfall of rumours to the songsmith's ears. He smiles graciously when customers offer coin in thanks, but his board is paid and often he refuses any further payment.

Motivation

Galboron is a travelling storyteller and songsmith who roams the countryside of Eriador buying hospitality for a tale or song. He has somewhat of the regal bearing of Numenor, and is no doubt of Noble blood, but he himself is unaware of his exact ancestry and enjoys none of the advantages of the Nobility of the land. He prefers it that way and is in no hurry to uncover his heritage, instead of roaming the land freely and answering to no master. He is at home in the wild as much as at Hearthside, and though he serves no one directly, he often keeps watch on the doings of Arthedain’s enemies, doing his part to preserve the peace and safety of its borders. He bears a long hunting-knife and has a short bow and quiver stowed with his horse’s gear.
