A burly dwarf rises and makes his way forward. 'Dagaard Drachoschlar is my name, and I accept your call. So long as you are buying the beer, I will act as your strong arm!' With that, he places his dwarven hammer on the table, turns and scans the room. 'Anyone else care to join us, then? Beers on the hobbit'.....

Personal history
Born in the Dwarven halls of the Blue Mountains (Ered Luin) the third son of a smith of the great halls, Dagaard became disatisified with his life under the mountains. He felt that in the outside world he would find fortune as a smith by selling direct to the mannish settlements. So it was, that with his wife, he set out for the port town of Caras Celairnen.
The Dwarvish Envoy established him in the town as an indentured smith, ensuring that he had a regular flow of work for his small forge. Soon he had paid off the indenture and he and his wife were beginning to think about family and perhaps settling back in the great halls of his fathers. Trade had been good and he had amassed enough goods to and wealth to ensure rapid advancement within Smith guild under the mountains.
As payment for services from a fellow dwarf, Dagaard and his wife and received a map and a poem, which the itinerant dwarf claimed was a clue to an ancient dwarf hold. To the right buyer this could be worth a fortune he told them. Subsequently, in attempting to realise this wealth, disaster befell Dagaard.
They met with a potential client, dark shaggy hair, face covered in coal dust and his companion a Dunlending known as Grubby Durnan. The ale flowed freely but what the husband and wife did not know was that they were being poisoned by blackfish venom. Dagaard collapsed into unconciousness the artefacts stolen by Durnan and his companion.
Eventually, Dagaard recovered, only to discover the venom had killed his beloved wife. Grief-stricken he swore to hunt down her killers and rain down blows from his hammer upon them until they became one with the stone of Arda.

The death of his wife has sent Dagaard on a quest to find the two men responsible for poisoning her.
The venom itself has left Dagaard slightly mentally unstable. He is prone to bi-polar mood swings. He is now more rash in combat, but still won't take on ridiculous odds - he does have enough instinct for self-preservation.
