Encounter in the Underdeeps
Hrothgar pulls open the cellar door and allows the adventurers entry to below the inn. Nervously, they gather between the casks of mead and ale. Lantern swinging the innkeeper follows the party down the steps and hangs the lantern from a beam. "Now you remember that this is at your own peril that you enter. No-one will come to rescue you if you get into trouble?" he pauses for nods of assent. "The early passages are well marked, but as soon as you go beyond these you are on your own and will need to mark your own way." he continues as he works a secret pattern behind a row of casks.
In front of the adventurers, a doorway appears, the lantern light casting a small pool into the inky darkness. Torches flare into life and weapons are made ready. With a steadfast look upon their faces, the explorers enter the Underdeeps of Caras Celairnen.
