Common
Red Witches are among the most common kind of Witches in Omekra. Despite that, they do still draw stares from all sorts of people, and maybe even a crowd, especially if they wear their formal garments. However, those crowds will quickly disperse, should the Red Witches be dressed for battle.
Attuned to Red
The reason as to why they are called Red Witches is because their Chakras are attuned to the Red Spectrum. There are no physical characteristics that show this attunement, aside from specific tattoos or certain jewelry. The only concrete way to find out if someone is a Red Witch is to witness their magic display, or search for certain clues on their fallen opponents or damaged environments.
Color of Difficulty
Their magic have a red color-shade which might change in intensity, depending on how much effort they put into it. The easier the magical energy is to conjure, the lighter it becomes in color. Those that are the most difficult are nearly black in contrast. Their magic also give of a warm aura that can be both lifesaving and life-threatening.

Nearly anyone can be born a Red Witch, regardless of bloodline, but coming from a family whose blood has strong connections to magic, amplifies the possibility a thousandfold. Interestingly, the Red Witches who comes from a family with no apparent connections to magic in their blood — and haven't for at least several generations — are generally stronger then those who do.

These are a lot more rarer then those who are born Red Witches. It is thought that only around a few dozen or so of these so-called Unpure Red Ones are made every hundred years, and the process of it all take several decades, though some argue that it never ends; that it continues until the day they die. And the cause?
Causes
Mystical Idols
Some of these Unpure Red Ones have said that they stumbled upon mystical idols while searching abandoned ruins, or somewhere in the middle of nowhere, such as deep woods, desolate deserts or freezing mountains. However, no one has ever found these idols and brought them to civilization to be studied, even if the Unpure Red Ones themselves acted as guides.
The Red Witch Twins
This is — according to most — the most preposterous story of how Unpure Red Ones are made. The stories are usually the same; someone wondered alone in some desolate part of a settlement - be it a town or city - who was attacked by two thought-to-be thieves.
After taking a quick beating, they get a glimpse of the two assailants, who are usually dressed in formal Red Witch garments, when one of them conjure a blood red flame above their palm. It is always a women and a man in middle-age years who both are strikingly beautiful.
Before the Unpure ones can do anything, the women hits them in the chest with the flame, causing the Unpure ones to loose consciousness. Afterwards, they all wake up in their home — or the place that they considers the safest — with a vague red mark in their chest. Not long after this, they find themselves with the abilities of a Red Witch.
Symptoms
Red Witches are more detectable the younger they are, since before they can control their powers they give of thin red wisps of smoke that arise from their skin - usually their arms and face and particularly when they feel anger, sadness or fear.
Those who can't control their powers also have a tendency to give of shock-waves of pale red magic that can be rather devastating, at least on a small scale - usually about twenty meters in diameter.
The Unpure Red Ones also have these symptoms, but they are about a hundred times worse and are usually hunted down and killed because of it. Or turned into weapons of great destruction.

Formal Garments
Red Witches usually wear garments who are colored in various shades of red. They - most of times - follow the most modern fashion to some degree and most magical organizations keeps the different kinds of authority displayed by having the highest positions wear darker shades of red than the lower ones.
Tattoos
Some Red Witches are forced to wear red tattoos and usually as facial markings. How they look like depends on the organization and their position within said organization. They do however have a more practical purpose, as they warn witches when then might risk burning themselves out magically by becoming very painful.
Jewelry
Some Red Witches carries specific jewelry to tell others what they are and also possibly what their position is. Low ranking Red Witches might wear jewelry made from copper, while the highest ranking individuals wear jewelry are made from red gold. What kind of jewelry? It can be everything from rings, brooches, to necklaces or diadems. And they may not be restricted to only wearing one kind of jewelry.

These are the same for all Witches, not just Red Ones.The Hair
A few Red Witches are born with ashen or snow white hair. Other, more distinct colors include dark blue, blood red and turquoise, though these colors are very rare. Only about one in ten Witches are born with these colors. Another interesting thing about their hair is its unusual growth rate, which shows itself in the fact that most witches have very long hair. Most find it useless to cut their hair off, since it will only grow back unnaturally fast.
The Eyes
Most Red Witches are born with unusual eye colors, which will become more prominent the older they get. The most common colors include turquoise, violet, and pale red.
In some places, alchemist, witch doctors and just the deranged, collect the eyes from Red Witches - as well as other body parts and organs - in hopes of taking part of their powers. And the victims are not necessary dead while they are plucked out.

The first Red Witches.
Who are the Red Witch Twins? According to the most common tale they were the first Red Witches ever to be born. Individually, they go by many names; the women is usually called Ellfau and the man Sadhial.
Ascended into Godhood?
Depending on who you ask, they are either Ancient Red Wraiths, Witches who found the secret to immortality within their magic or have reached further and Ascended into Godhood.
A scary tale.
They are usually used to scare children to make them behave, but even grownups may hasten their way if they think they see something red in a alleyway.
Real or not, that's the question.
Are they real? Nobody really knows and most people would not really want them to be true. But the Unpure Red Ones are those who are more prone to believe their existence; some of them even think that they place out the mystical idols for unlucky people to find.
