The Realms

All of existence resides in four parallel dimensions known as Realms: The Real, The Unreal, The In-Between, and The Beyond. And though not always considered a “true” Realm, The Void exists between and alongside the other four.
All myth-spirits are connected to one of the four Realms, but human spirits are more or less connected to all at once—humans have physical form, have spirits, have presence, and can dream. In addition, some humans can develop or are born with an affinity to one of the Realms in particular, which grants them certain abilities. The development and use of these abilities is known as the Realmic Arts:

• The Real—Life-Force Detection
• The Unreal—Illusion Manipulation
• The In-Between—Astral Projection
• The Beyond—Spiritual Awareness

Technically, humans and myth-spirits alike cannot have an affinity to the Void, but some individuals have managed to learn how to harness the Void’s anti-existence energies nonetheless. Those energies, while ultimately detrimental to the user, can grant them highly destructive capabilities.
