Silverstone Mountains
So named for their pale stone peaks and their rich silver deposits, the Silverstone Mountains are a nigh-impassable range that marks the southernmost border of the Torithian Federation; the farthest the pioneering frontier-folk have managed to reach.
Geography
The Silverstone Mountains are steep, jagged peaks. Many of the individual peaks are so tall that they are tipped in snow and ice year-round, and in places where the slope isn’t sheer granite, rockslides are common. The highest peaks are perpetually covered in snow and ice above the tree-line, and there are certain parts along the ridges that are infamous among local communities for avalanches.
Natural Resources
The Silverstone Mountains’ most valuable natural resource is, as their name implies: silver. The Torithian Federation mines most of its silver and related metals from the range, when not mined from the Nahala Mountains up north. The Silverstone Mountains are also a great source for sturdy stones such as granite.
