Rlichim

The Rlichim, a subspecies of Goblin unique to the Slande Archipelago, is believed to have evolved from their now extinct ancestors, the Sembar goblins. Unlike their feral counterparts found in other regions, the Rlichim display a surprisingly civilized demeanour, often welcoming nomadic Ishlipuhm people into their tribes.  However they still contain their strong mischievous streak like most goblins, but uniquely to them and maybe the extinct Sembar variant it is attributed to a peculiar cranial structure that may activate certain neurons linked with mischievous behaviours.   Traditionally, goblins are depicted as peculiarly tinted, mischievous creatures, known for causing trouble and malevolent harm to villagers and travellers along the shoreline. Banditry and association with warbands are often linked to them. Unfortunately, the Rlichim's evolution has not protected them from the oppression and subjugation they face at the hands of advanced civilizations, leading them to remain in a primitive state for most of their lives, with only ever a few dozen per tribe joining a pirate crew.   Surviving in the harsh environment, many Rlichim are forced to resort to thievery for sustenance, perpetuating the negative stereotype, but to the surrounding pirates, the behaviour is very much like their own offering the goblins slightly more freedom than in other regions.
