The king is a title originating from the native tongue adopted into Serenity.
The title is given to the rulers of Berulia, originally two of the capital Plufvura, however after the War of Broken Vows it relates to one monarch in Plufvura and Saluildungpi, who are bound in a ceremonial ritual much like a marriage, however each individual is allowed to court anyone else.
The origins of the name come from the local language use of the third person possessive determiner King /kiŋ/ (His, Hers, Their), for the king is the one who owns all. A meaning more symbolic than a ground-set rule, with the use of the title King being originally used to refer to barons, lords, and so forth, but it has now come to mean the monarch(s).
