Ek Bones and Carapaces

Ek Bone and Carapace Acquisition:  To get Ek bone you must first kill an Incursion Ek and while it's disintegrating into Ek ash you must cut off any bone spurs that lie outside the Ek's main body.  If you try to acquire bones from the inside of an Ek, whether it is disintegrating or not, the bones will be brittle and weak when exposed to air and will turn to Ek ash. To get Ek carapaces you must skin a dead Grey Wastes Ek within an hour of killing it, while the Ek of the Grey Wastes do not disintegrate as quickly as the Incursion Ek do when one Grey Wastes Ek is found many more are on their way.    Uses for the Bones: Ek Bone is a much stronger material than it's weight would imply and is very magically reactive, holding certain enchantments very well.  When fashioned into a weapon it seems to continue to harbor the hatred that it's bearer had in life and wielders of Ek bone weaponry have long told stories of their weapons swinging faster and biting deeper than any other they have used. When an enchanter tries to place an enchantment on an Ek bone weapon they may find the damaging portions of them enhanced.   Uses for the Carapace: Ek Carapace turn away blades better than any other material in it's weight class, if it is used for armor.  Ek Carapace is able to keep a semblance of life when harvested properly and Flesh-crafters and Biomancers are able to make symbiotic armor out of it very easily. When an armor is forged out of Ek Carapaces it maintains the cohesiveness of the Ek it used to protect.  When several people are wearing Ek armor they are able to work together on an almost instinctive level and some who have worn the armor together for years sometimes are able to use the skills of the others, like the Grey Wastes Ek do.
