Slacking Disease
Slacking Disease is an uncommon disease that inconveniences creatures by sapping their will to work and move leading to inaction and stagnation.
Transmission & Vectors
Spores released from mycelial growths commonly found on poorly maintained foundations. The release of spores is commonly stimulated by vibrations such as earthquakes or heavy construction work.
Causes
The spores are a defence mechanism for the fungal growth.
Symptoms
The disease saps the diseased of the will to work as well as the strength to do so. A general state of malaise is the first symptom which over the next month develops into a deep desire to sleep and relax. The only physical sign of the infection is a slight jaundice between the toes of humanoids and in the ears of beasts.
Treatment
The infection can be removed by amputating the afflicted area, feet for humanoids and ears for beasts. This is not the preferred method but is guaranteed to work. Potent poisons or purifying agents are known to work but often are too expensive or come with harsh side effects. Moon Cap extract is able to eliminate the infection without harsh side effects so is used by those with the money to acquire it. Certain Marks are able to eliminate diseases but their services are generally reserved for the richest in society.
Affected Groups
Construction workers, adventurers, archeologists.
Hosts & Carriers
Humanoids, beasts. Hosts.
Yellow Ansanthium. Host and transmitter.
Prevention
Wearing airtight footwear can serve to prevent the disease.
Epidemiology
The disease is uncommon as it is only spread by the fungal Yellow Ansanthium growth. The afflicted are generally only construction workers, adventurers and archeologists.
History
Historically it has proven a nuisance to large infrastructure projects that seek to replace old works like sewers.

Typically considered a nuisance and used in various turns of phrase to call people lazy.
