Lopfar

The Lopfar are an alien race that resemble anthropomorphic rabbits, but with humanlike faces. They are known for their long, floppy ears, fluffy fur, and large appetites.
In their world of origin, the Lopfar were a sort of trophy species, treated almost like sapient pets by their "benefactors." This treatment created a warm-hearted, emotionally intelligent, docile, and thoroughly spoiled race of beings. They were pampered and coddled and treated like living snuggle buddies for so long that they became extremely co-dependent.
Somehow, a group of them ended up in Medlia, and apparently not even they know how it happened. They're all coping with the displacement in a variety of ways, most of which involve ingratiating themselves to well-off people or frantically searching for ways to make comfy "dens" for themselves. There's one who has started a cult.
There's a lot of peculiar myths and superstitions surrounding the Lopfar that they have carried over from their home world. Lots of them involve the Lopfar being bearers of prosperity. One, for example, holds that if you are the "master" or lover of a particularly well-fed Lopfar, both you and the Lopfar are bound for prosperity. The whole race runs a bit "fluffy," and their tendency towards being gluttons doesn't help that at all.

Anatomy

They're "human-faced anthros," based off lop rabbits. Bipedal, they walk upright, they're very fluffy but the fur on their faces is smooth...

Genetics and Reproduction

They reproduce how you'd think. Like bunnies. The litters aren't as large, fortunately, but still... like bunnies.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They're herbivores for the most part, enjoying fruit, nuts, and vegetables. However, they also adore sweet foods and go to great lengths to consume as much as possible. Pastries, chocolate, more fruit... if it's sweet, they'll want it.

There's a rumor that they might have a glamour that makes them appeal to other beings, but this is unsubstantiated.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Two positions hold great power to a Lopfar: "Master" and "lover." Being a Lopfar's "lover" is what it sounds like, though the romantic and platonic dimensions can vary in context. Lopfar have a tendency towards polyamory, and there's no cultural limit on the number of lovers one may take. "Master," however, is reserved for the one person that a Lopfar would like to have take care of them the most. It's essentially a Lopfar's most precious person, above any lover.

They might have been endangered at some point, but for a variety of reasons they are now decidedly not.
