Tower

Tower is a game played with the common Four Army decks, and requires a minimum of two players. There is no maximum, but more than 4 players requires more than one deck. Its popular in all levels of society, and runs a group of armies through a tower raid. One player is the tower, and the other, or others, are attempting to reach the top, with as few losses as possible.

History

Tower has been around for as long as these cards have been in fashion. Four Army decks had units representing what was the four Princes in Ezpan at the time, though all armies had the same number of units and unit types. The game originally came from Ezpan, also where Army Decks started, carried by the countries variety of sailors. It still has popularity among sailors around the world, but grew in popularity in Causis and Ghenna first before spreading. Soon alternative armies sprung up, representing ancient empires, popular fiction kingdoms, historical armies, and alternative countries. Card makers also created special edition armies for the wealthy, where the games winners typically take cards from the loser to add to their collection.

Execution

A game of tower has rounds equal to the number of players, so everyone has a chance to defend the tower, and each tower has five floors. The floors are worth the amount of points equal to the level number, so floor one of the tower is worth one point. Floor one has one card played in its defense, floor two has two, and so one.   Round start: Tower defender plays their defender card face down, and each attacker players their attacker face up. Battle commences as the defender flips their card. Each battle is waged separately, one to one. An attacker who fails to pass a level can add another unit to pass. Tower defender gets points equal to the extra units needed to defeat a floor. This repeats until the fifth floor. Attackers who run through their decks before they reach the top of the tower gain no points, and the defender claims an extra ten points on top of the extra unit points.   Units run by Type, and amount. All armies include Horse, Ground, Ranged, Mage, and a Hero card. Units have weaknesses and advantages, except Mage and the Hero card, but there are few of these in a deck. Same type units resolve in number. Five ground troops will beat four ground troops. A defender with a weakness to the attacker only requires half unit, rounded up, to beat it, and the opposite is true if the attacker is weak against the defender.   Four Ranged would require eight Horse to defeat it, but only two Ground.   Horses have advantage against Ground, and a Weakness to Archers. Arches have advantage against Horse, but a Weakness to Ground. Ground have advantage against Archers, but a Weakness to Horse.
