Myth of Horizon

In the time before existence, there was the All-Father. First and greatest of all divinities he ruled in the darkness before all things, alone and omnipotent. After uncounted Eons the All-father tired of being alone in the darkness and gave word to his thoughts. These words carried with them a spark of the All-Father’s power and that power became the Gods of all the Worlds.     The power that was the Gods pushed away the darkness forcing it to the edge of that which is, and for a time all was peaceful. But the gods created by the All-Father possessed only a fraction of his power and some began to grow jealous of their creator. One such god, whose name is lost, conceived a plan to destroy the All-Father and claim his power. But this god did not keep well his secret, and a lesser god called Hosia heard him, and became angry at the presumption of his brother to slay their father and usurp his power.   So, did Hosia slay the nameless God, and by performing the first destruction claimed a power akin to the All-Father. The All-Father noticed this power and demanded to know where Hosia had found it. Hosia, who saw himself the loyal servant of his creator answered truthfully, and the All-Father became angered that Hosia had claimed a power that the All-Father had not known. He raged and flexed his might against Hosia, but his power could not destroy him for Hosia was now akin to his maker.   And so, the All-Father cast Hosia into the darkness away from the community of his kin, excepting the goddess Astrix; who bore great love for Hosia and choose to accompany him and the dragon god Menlok; who served as the mount of Hosia. As the three gods entered the darkness, they saw the All-Father create in infinite wall of crystal to separate the gods from the darkness and make clear a space for their coming creations.   For time unknown did the three gods travel the darkness which they moved through like a vast ocean of night, until they came across other beings that dwelt in the murk outside of creation. These creatures were twisted and evil, neither mortal nor divine, and they set upon the three travelers. For millennia, the battle was waged until the three gods cast down the elder creatures reducing them to shards and scraps of their former glory and driving away their minions, who sages now call Aboleth.   As he rested from the battle Hosia felt the power that dwelt within the cities of the ancient ones, and drew it up from the ocean of darkness. It was the Soulsource and as it was removed from the primordial ocean, around it formed a mass of land that hung in the firmament above the darkness. Hosia did has his creator had and named it Horizon, and the name carried power and the power created Horizon as the first of the outer planes. As this plane formed around the Soulsource it acted upon that great power as a prism, breaking the infinite power emanating from it into smaller beams known as the Soul Wells.   And upon this plane did Hosia build his citadel from which he and Astrix would dwell for a time. And Menlok laid in the caverns beneath forever watchful for the return of the ancient ones.
