Mithralnesti

The Mithralnesti were first created in the magical forges of Pekonost in the year 570 AC. During the years leading up to the War of the Tower, the Grey Elves of Entrieties used the Mithralnesti to supplement their military forces. Since the fall of Silthasias, the twice emperor, the only remaining Mithralnesti forge is in the elvish city of Oman, where the Mithralnesti have claimed recognition as a free and valued minority in the city's population.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The central core of a Mithralnesti is made from wood from of the the elvish trees of the forest of Entrieties. This wooden core, having been created through the Orb of Dreams from the hopes and dreams of the elvish people posses spirits of their own. These cores are then infused with magical power and enchanted Mythril in the great Forge. This provides the Mithralnesti with a humanoid form roughly matching the dimensions of a high elf, composed of a combination of elven wood and mythril.    While the Mythralnesti appear thin and willowy as their Elvish creators, their strength and vitality from the the elvish wood that forms their core and as such they are heavily resistant to poisons and generally physically tougher than normal elves.    The Mythralnesti do not have skin or hair, though some are capable of growing a moss like material on their heads which can be cut and styled to provide an unique look to the individual. While they do not have genitals or sexual organs of any sort, the vast majority of Mithralnesti do wear clothing as they understand it is expected of civilized people, as well as protecting them from cold and environmental hazards.

Genetics and Reproduction

Mithralnesti are incapable of sexual reproduction, and can only be created through the harvesting of an elvish tree and processing it through the magical forges. However, due to the nature of the spirits within their cores, many Mithralnesti have genders that they choose to identify as, even if their forms are mostly androgynous.     In the 3rd age, the creation of new Mithralnesti require the approval of Prince Summersong of Oman, and the forge itself is controlled by the House Tu'ranni, the Archon House of Arcanology and Magical Study within the city. While all Mithralnesti understand what they are and feel a sense of belonging with others of their species, they do not have family organizations and instead form close bonds with whomever they choose.

Growth Rate & Stages

The Mithralnesti are created fully formed and do not show any change or growth through their existence excepting the moss growth or general weathering. Neither of these factors appear to effect the capabilities of the Mithralnesti and they do not suffer from old age.    It is generally believed that Mithralnesti are naturally immortal and will only die due to damage or misadventure.

Ecology and Habitats

The vast majority of the remaining Mithralnesti live within the city of Oman and its surrounding territory, though they are capable of functioning in any environment that elves can adapt to. They are not immune to excessive hear or cold, so they do prefer temperate environments.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mithralnesti are not truly mortal beings and as such do not require food, water or air to survive, and in fact are incapable of consuming food or water. However, the do require air to speak, like most other races. They draw their energy from the spirit of the wooden core within them and once created are not adversely affected by anti-magic areas or magical dispelling.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Mythralnesti have senses that are somewhat dulled compared to their Elvish Creators, but are on par with those of humans. The major difference with the Mithralnesti is that they do not have the superior night vision of their elvish makers, and as such are more often Diurnal than normal elves.
