Creation of the Pantheon

For a time did Hosia and Astrix dwell alone within the Citadel upon Horizon but soon wished for the company of their lost fellow gods and the comforts of the All-Father’s creation. Astrix suggested that they try their hands at creation of their own. So, each god retreated to a corner of Horizon and began to draw upon their inherent power to create.     Hosia drew upon his sense of order and carefully planned each part of his creation, while Astrix drew upon the beauty in her soul shaping her creation by feel and whimsy. When the gods completed their labors, they brought them forth to show the other. However, the Gods knew great pride in their creations and soon Hosia and Astrix began to argue over the superiority of their creations.   The heat and passion of their conflict seeped into the creations and gave them life. From Hosia’s creation was born Robanus, lord of the dead and master of the final judgment; and from Astrix’s came Madora goddess of beauty and love. Hosia and Astrix ceased their arguing and marveled at the wonder of their creations. Robanus and Madora awoke and looked at one another and felt love and joined so their separate means would bring balance to their existence.   As Robanus and Madora moved out into Horizon to investigate their new lives, Hosia and Astrix turned to the act of creation again. This time they chose to work together and joined together all essences into their new creation, hoping that the shared essence would bring balance to their creation. Alas, this was not to be, for not even a godly form can absorb the essence of all existence. So was born Brilla, whose mind was broken by the depth of existence that dwells within his form.   Hosia, who even then loved stability and order, grew frightened of his mad creation and banished Brilla from his sight. Astrix was struck by the cruelty that her mate showed their creation and her heart broke and from it poured the last of her love for Hosia. So, both gods departed from his presence, leaving Hosia to brood alone in his Citadel.   Brilla fled into the wilds of Horizon, leaving Astrix to walk alone. For a time, she walked taking joy in discovering the wonders of Horizon, until she came upon the form of a God she did not know. This god was Jhonus, child formed of the union between Robanus and Madora. His formed radiated goodness and justice, and Astrix soon found herself smitten by the new god and took him as her mate.   Astrix and Jhonus reveled in their newfound love, and soon the fruits of their passion were born; Meaghana. Meaghana was the most beautiful of the gods and her purity outshone all others. And Astrix was afraid, for she knew that if Hosia saw her wonderful daughter he would want her for his own. Having now bathed in the light of Goodness, Astrix did not wish her daughter bound to the cold dispassion of Hosia. So Astrix told Jhonus of her fears and the two hid Meaghana in the wilds of Horizon to keep her from Hosia’s sight.   For some time, this worked, until one day Menlok the Dragon God entered the Citadel. From his loneliness, he had created many statues alike in form to his own, and beseeched Hosia to help him bring them to life as he had with his own creations. Hosia, who keenly felt the sting of loneliness, agreed on the condition that Menlok would send his new children throughout Horizon to seek a companion for Hosia. Menlok agreed and Hosia put life into the statues creating the progenitor of each of the dragon races.   Soon these Dragons had flown the length of Horizon and found Meaghana. They quickly brought the goddess to Hosia, and the two felt their souls connect, for they were much more alike than Hosia and Astrix had ever been. But just then, Jhonus strode into the citadel as he thought Hosia used his dragons to kidnap Meaghana and he meant to rescue her. In his presence the two Gods declared their love for each other, and Jhonus grew fearful. He had heard of the conflict between Astrix and Hosia and he did not wish to allow harm to be brought to his daughter, and so he forbid their union. Hosia became enraged that his will was being challenged in the place he had created. And it soon looked as if the conflict would end in blood, when Meaghana intervened.   She declared her love for Hosia, and wished to be joined with him. But she did not wish to disobey her father, so she suggested a compromise. Her father wished for a world beyond Horizon and the planes where life could foster and grow. Meaghana would agree to give her godly form to such a place in exchange for the chance to be joined with Hosia. Jhonus could not deny his daughter, nor his own desire to foster life and so he agreed.   The two gods were joined and to avoid further conflict over this new world that was created, Hosia reached into the soul wells in Horizon and assigned their influence to the different gods so that each would know their responsibilities in tending it. It was his hope that these spheres of influence would maintain the peace within the divine realms forever…
