Wazhazhe Tribe

Known as the People of the River to some, the Wazhazhe tribe resided in the central and southern plains of Mayika, along its many rivers. The Wazhazhe were about the only known known tribe to practice agriculture, and as such, they placed their livelihood on it. Through different strifes and conflicts wrought by other tribes and settlers, the People of the River kept to their ways. Along the many rivers, they grew a mix of vegetables and even raised livestock, though corn was their most common produce. With their use of agriculture, the tribe had found a lot of success, and even today remains one of the biggest tribes. The tribe as a whole seems to strive for unity through prosperity, and try to extend this to other tribes, to mixed results. However, they commonly stand against the Dimerans, who they regard as invaders.   The Wazhazhe people are known for being kind and generous givers. When other tribes go through famine, disaster, or war, it is the Wazhazhe that put the onus on themselves give fellow tribes aid. Because of this giving nature, the spirits have been especially generous to them, and their shamans and chiefs are said to be more connected to the Wana'ghe than those of other tribes.   In times of darkness, the Wazhazhe have been a light to other tribes. In the heart of Mayika was where the first Keeper of the Plains was erected, at the spot where the rivers meet, and it is now known as Riversmeet Village. Its light shines brightly across the prairies of Mayika, though it is but a star in a sea of black, however bright it is. They have been blessed comparatively to other tribes, though everyone still felt the pain of the darkness.
