Payi Tribe
The peaceful Payi tribe consist of those who call the northern hills and plains of Mayika home. They are less nomadic than other tribes, and carve out homes within the hills themselves. These homes are marked by erected stone tablets, marked with paints that are unique to each home, and symbolize a different meaning. Though they have permanent homes, at times they vacate their villages entirely, leaving no trace behind, only to come back months later. Though it is said this is for hunting, there are rumors of ritualistic purposes for their sudden exoduses.
The Payi people can be secretive and mysterious at times. They do have a strong sense of community, and bond easily with people of their tribe.
In these dark times that all Mayikashe face, some villages of the Payi have been swallowed by the darkness, and entire families have gone missing, never to be seen in the decades following the sky disappearing. Only one major village remained, and though a Keeper of the Plains maintains a light that casts across the northern hills, it is crippled with the vast swathes of Payi people it had to take in. As time has gone on, the village has been expanded, going deeper underground.
