The Lady of the Seas

The Lady of the Seas was the most advanced naval ship of it's time. It was manufactured by a group of aspiring mages to be a large ferry ship between the Isle of Crandor and the mainland. It was designed to withstand the roughhousing of Adventurers, who inhabited Crandor almost exclusively at the time. A few aspiring Adventurers and wizards from the Wizard's tower worked together to create the ship. It was the first magically enhanced ship, with many comforts that thrilled and captivated many. It became quite the tourist attraction, drawing humans from all over the world to experience the pinnacle of human technology at the time. It ran twice a day, once at sun up, and once in the late afternoon. This inadvertently spawned a large tourism industry for Crandor, as passengers would spend the majority of the day on the island, browsing shops, and marveling at the island's natural beauty.   The day that Crandor was destroyed, it was unfortunately the only escape route. The emergency portal to the mainland was almost immediately destroyed, upon the death of the adventurer who maintained it. Years prior, a mass teleportation block was placed on the island, encouraging people to stay for the whole day, or overnight. This was to the detriment of both the inhabitants and visitors, who were unable to leave when the island went up in magically charged fire.   The boat was at a nearby lighthouse at the time of the disaster. Many of the mariners who made the trip regularly were having a meeting there, the topics now lost to time. It is assumed that one of the mariners there sent the ship back with it's auto-navigation system to try to evacuate people, but all who were there perished soon after the boat left   The boat arrived far too late to save much of anyone. It arrived at what remained of the dock, where 5 surviving Adventurers desperately climbed on to escape the island. Two of them perished defending the ship on the way back, and the remaining three were lost to obscurity. It is rumored that they hold the last remaining map to Crandor, the last remnant of their only home.  No one else survived the destruction of the island.   The ship was soon abandoned, the Auto-navigation system destroyed. It is currently on display in the Naval Officer's training yard, where aspiring sailors can view it as a part of their training.

Propulsion

The lady of the Seas had three main sails,  along with being magically propelled by the onboard mages.  Using a combination of Air and Water magic,  the ship was well known for being the first magically propelled ship on MayHearth.  It had an especially smooth ride,  with only 3 passengers ever reporting sea sickness.

Weapons & Armament

The ship had three canons on each side,  to serve as a deterrent for Pirates,  and their ilk

Armor and defense

The Lady of the Seas had a strong magical barrier to repel cannon based attacks,  along with small arms fire.  It's water magic was designed to put out minor fires once they were detected,  a marvel in magical engineering at the time.

Communication Tools & Systems

The center mast has a color changing flag,  controllable from the ground level,  letting the other ships in the area know it's status.  No more rushing to change the flag,  when you can change it with the flip of a lever!

Sensors

This ship has an onboard navigation system that can automagically steer the ship through troubled waters! By inputting a map into the slot by the wheel, it can steer through reefs, rocks, and debris, straight to the dock with all the passengers safe and sound.
