Personal history
Once a king of Jestoania, he was sacrificed in 1402 to appease Qhil, goddess of the sea. She accepted this sacrifice, and changed him into a mer unlike any other instead of leaving his body to rot.
He wanders with his wife and lover now, one a seal changeling, the other a mer like him. He is the knower-of-things, and lures people in to eat with a lute of bone strung with sinew.
At least, that's what he wants you to think.

Reign
His reign was long, but in the end plagued by storms that wrecked ships and starved hundreds. Fearing Qhil's wrath, he decided to appease her by human sacrifice. His life, for those of his people.
It worked.
