Aquimore-Vohai War
The Conflict
Prelude
The Vohai Empire had one of the largest total landmasses in the region, and also had control over the ice fields and a large portion of the ocean. They had a stranglehold on all imports and exports to their region, as well as ship traffic to Syle, Estrea and Alpta. As Aquimore had the most shipping lines, most of them headed for Estrea, they felt the effects of the new restrictions the most.
After multiple diplomatic attempts to stop Vohai's almost childish control over the Antarta were met with a large number of naval vessels stationed along the routes, Aquimore responded by guarding their own ships with their larger navy, and took the routes they wanted to.
"--in short, your unwillingness to adhere to reasonable requests, and your childish display of military vessels, makes a dark implication of the beginnings of an attack on Vohai.-- excerpt from a diplomatic letter from Vohai to Aquimore"
"If 'implication' of war is what you are most concerned about, then allow us to assuage any doubts you hold. Aquimore formally declares war upon Vohai for its disruption of regional trade in favor of hoarding wealth. We will see you upon our mutual battlefield.-- Full declaration of war from Aquimore to Vohai"
Aftermath
With the loss of high tariffs, the Empire needed another quick money-making idea. The breakthrough came in the form of the Kantmai eruption. After Compass was destroyed, Brosha had lost its main trading hub and economic stronghold. Pheaceton began to occupy the area, and bounced back from its brief economic slump thanks to hundreds of people dying; though some of their economic ventures were built on the backs of much higher numbers.
Aquimore continued to develop larger and stronger ships, which wasn't too large of a change from their normal activity.
