Kantmai
We know they've erupted before, but we only have one instance of this in currently recorded history. Many living remember its eruption, and the early winter that followed. Other volcanoes have erupted more recently, and more often, to less effect. Indeed, the Devil's Retreat has erupted more often than Kantmai. Which begs our question; why did Kantmai erupt when it did, prompted by nothing? Which happened first, the earthquakes or the eruption? What prompts these? How do we prevent loss of life like this?
