Tony Stark

Anthony Edward Stark (a.k.a. Tony)

Anthony "Tony" Stark is one of the world's most successful technology developers and weapons manufacturers. His company Stark Industries, that he runs alongside his father Howard Stark, has been at the frontline of revolutionary weapon technology.   Tony Stark himself has fallen under heavy fire in the past for his playboy lifestyle, which he flaunts carelessly. Many people describe him as difficult to work for and an egomaniac, but his contributions to the fields of technology have caused him to be consistently listed as one of the most influential minds of the modern world.   Tony has received plenty of criticism over the years due to his contributions to worldwide conflict, though he dismisses these claims, saying he's "only on the side of America" when it comes to weapon manufacturing. He regularly donates to veteran-based foundations such as the Wounded Warrior Project and has a healthy relationship with the US military.

Personal history

Anthony Edward Stark was born May 29, 1984 to Howard and Maria Stark. As a child, he showed a penchant for technology and building things, being labeled a child prodigy as early as five years old. His father sent him to boarding school at the age of seven, as Howard believed his son needed to learn some harsh lessons of the world to truly become a man. Tony mainly spent his free time reading alone and designing things.   After boarding school, Tony joined the undergraduate program at MIT at fifteen years old and graduated two years later as valedictorian with double majors in physics and engineering. He then attended Cambridge University in England, but was called home by his father when Tony's mother Maria passed away.   As a way to cope with this loss, Tony became more reckless and thrill-seeking, trying to find challenges in life since he believed things had become too mundane for him. In 2005, while flying a private jet over Afghanistan, his plane was shot out of the air and he was kidnapped by a terrorist sect led by Wong-Chu, who wanted Stark to build weapons for him. Tony was gravely injured but refused to comply, and was almost killed.   Howard found Tony's location in less than a month by using Stark scouting drones, and the US military was able to successfully rescue Tony. This successful rescue operation led to the military signing a multi-decade contract with Stark Industries, the largest military contract ever signed. Less than a year later, Tony accepted an offer from his father to join the family business, stating: "If it weren't for my father's weapons and technology, I would have died."   In 2008, Tony took the mantle of CEO from his father, who moved into an advisory role. Since taking over as CEO, Tony has designed and manufactured over 100 new types of weapons for the US government, and has appeared on the top 10 list of TIME Magazine's Most Influential People for the past 10 years. He has received just as much negative press as positive though. many news outlets tag Tony as being abrasive, womanizing, and a drunk.   In 2014 Stark Industries weapons were found to be in possession of an Iraqi terrorist operation that killed over 60 people in New York's Wall Street district. Tony commented by stating: "We make weapons for the good guys. Sometimes the bad guys get ahold of them, and we are doing our best to prevent that. But at the end of the day, the number of lives Stark Industries technology has saved vastly outnumbers the lives it has taken, and you don't have to be a genius with a double major in physics and engineering to know that's a good thing."
