Stark Tower
Stark Tower is the main headquarters of Stark Industries and its CEO Tony Stark. It is a giant skyscraper in the heart of New York City and many experts describe it as the modern pinnacle of technology. As of 2015, the entire building began running on clean, renewable, and self-sustaining energy, cutting itself from the public power grid.
History
Stark Tower was built in 1970, originally as 1/4 the size it is now. At the time, it was the most technologically advanced building in the world, and was one of the most expensive structures ever built. As Stark Industries expanded its presence, the building also gained new floors and facilities, with construction being nonstop for months and even years at a time.
When Tony Stark took over as CEO in 2012, he shut down the building for a total of 90 days in 2015 and hired over 100 different crew teams to rewire the entire building to use his new Extremis technology, making the building self-sufficient and running on clean renewable energy. This project was a multi-billion dollar endeavor, and still holds up as the largest electrical project in history. People criticize Tony's construction as a waste of money and use it as a prime example of the company's continued shift into a more egocentric establishment.
