Session One: A Warlock's Pact

General Summary

- The 18 of Alta -
Yarrow Fermata, Alabaster Quilcy, and Cyrus Danceyboi were staying with Bertram in his house near   Odwald and Clara have secrets here. If left alone Odwald will unleash undead into the avium over time through his studies. " href="/w/mardlo-arias-nuactna/a/the-avium-settlement">The Avium. Bertram, being more than happy to have guests and to give greater access to the Avium to curious folk, extended his place to Yarrow and his new found acquaintances.   While in the Avium the group diverged and talked with different people.   Yarrow spent most of his time with Bertram talking about home and cooking for him and his other friends.   Cyrus spent time in and around the Avium asking about his home country, its histories, and their strange forms of magic.   Alabaster was introduced to Aldous Brackshaw a low level professor within the Avium. Aldous and Alabaster got along enough to help each other with their goals and work and ended up striking a bargain. Aldous, being a warlock, extended his power to Alabaster in exchange for a favour to be called upon should the need arise. In exchange Alabaster now has the eyes of the runekeeper which will help him in his quest.
- The 19 of Alta -
That night, after most students and staff had retired for the day, Aldous heard of new notes being delivered to Professor Clara Oaces about the fires. Growing too curious for his own good Aldous hurried to her office and, after gaining the aid of Cherin , took many of her files on the fires, its source, and other professors notes.   After gaining these notes Aldous hurried out the window of his floor of the Avium and glided his way down to Bertram's house with papers in hand. After avoiding the perch guard and sneaking into the house Aldous and Yarrow met. After some discussion Aldous "suggested" that Bertram leave them alone and then called in his favour to Alabaster to have them travel together. The first step to that travel being to immediately leave the Avium and travel south.   On the midnight road south the party spotted an ambush in the woods ahead. After a failed attempt at persuasion the party ended up taking out a party of bandits only sparing one, a Mapach named Aiden, and letting their leader escape into the night. Cyrus led the confusing investigations by both threatening the Mapach's life and seducing him.   Interrogating Aiden reveals that the The Bandit Coalition is having power struggles as of late and Krall Tinyfeet broke off from the main group to start his own bandit group. Aiden assures them that this was the extent of their group and that the plan was to travel to nearby towns and try to recruit people into a new coalition. Satisfied with this the party let him go. Yarrow offered him a letter to the Fermata family and told him to travel to Meadowfern to meet his mother and that he should stop robbing people.   After searching the bodies of the fallen bandits, and burying them in the woods, Alabaster found a note on the Vulpin archer. It was written in a language unknown to him but using his newfound power he could read it. It reads,
Our new leader has some plans that require better equipped rebels. I need you to move forward with our plans that have been on hold and push forward with operation 'Forge Fire'. Remember that there are a few warehouses in   The main quest here is dealing with the Bandits plan to steal cursed items from a craftsman." href="/w/mardlo-arias-nuactna/a/brackenmill-article">Brackenmill for The Perch Guard and we want the one with the 'Blue Wings'. Don't be overzealous again. We need less equipment without suspicious not more equipment with the whole guard on our tails. I trust that you won't fail me.

After looking at it, and memorizing the hand, Aldous determined that it was written in Mapach but seems to be written by a Cervan. Aldous troubled by the news of an attack at Brackenmill urged the group to go towards the town and deal with the bandits before they strike. After some arguments and conversation the group set up watch and made camp for the night, telling Aldous they would start travel to Brackenmill in the morning.
