Protectors are taught from an early age that self-sacrifice is a privilege, a virtue, and a duty. It's something that one should always consider in order to better the world around them, and as an Aasimar, they are the embodiments of all that is good.
Other Protectors are raised in a separate society altogether, on the mystical fortress of Helios. Helios trains Aasimar rigorously into Valkyries, powerful warriors who serve Odin.
Protectors from the Helios often have more nordic names. Other Protectors' names are dependant on where they are from.
The Monastery's Order oversees the training of the Protector Aasimar in Sanctuary. A school called "The Light of Kamhl" adopts orphaned Aasimar and train them in the virtuous ideals of an ancient angel, rumored to have attained powers comparable to a god, but sacrificing himself to protect the Aasimar of the world. The Lights of Kamhl believe that each and every celestial entity has a piece of the Lightbringer within them.
Above the world of Malkor, orbiting its atmosphere, is the magically enchanted station of Helios. Within its alabaster halls Aasimar are trained; Helios itself is as large as a city, and is governed by several houses. Actual angels, direct servants of the Allfather, patrol the Helios's interior as well as exterior, and the flying fortress is said to have a direct connection to Valheim itself, though only angels are said to be able to find let alone cross it.
The angels of Helios are all trained to martial perfection, and their job is to eradicate all evil from the world. They have beacon-outposts throughout the world, and one can teleport from one beacon up to the fortress.
