Old Ironsides

General Old Ironsides Non-applicable. Non-applicable. (a.k.a. Old Furnace, Old Scorchy, Scorchy, Irons)

The fortress city of Batoor had stood firm for centuries dozens of kings and would be conquers had come to there walls only to be driven back. Even this new foe of the so called Inleyan empire fell back. As the defenders of the city cheered and congratulated on another a scent wafted through the air then a sound drew their attention. The scent of smoke and fire, the sound of metal and steam grinding along, a tall stack of smoke reached up into the sky. After a few moments the origin of the stack stopped it resembled the 'tanks' the Inleyans had developed with one of their cannons strangely attached. After a moment the driver and seeming sole occupant of the machine emerged.    He was far enough away that none who stood atop the walls could discern him clearly. He operated a mechanism on the side of the machine which moved the large cannon attached to it. After a moment the man loaded what appeared to be a strange mace with no handle into the cannon, he held onto a length of chain that extended from the head, he fiddled with another mechanism briefly before a loud boom rolled through the air. The man and mace were propelled through the air  over the high walls and into the city itself. Though he did not make it far inside coming to an explosive landing within sight of the men who had just been congratulating themselves after having driven off the invaders. He had been far enough away that he looked like a common soldier perhaps a bit taller but still normal.    Now they could see him twelve feet tall glowing and giving off an unnatural heat, the mace he wielded at least the size of a man. They gathered themselves as quickly as they could and began attacking the creature. They quickly realised that this was ineffective as many of their attacks merely bounced off, others watched as their arrows caught into the nooks and crannies of his body catching fire or melting. Attacks and the battle with this creature continued for hours as it walked through the city. By the end of the day the forces of the city hadn't even made a scratch or harm the creature. Then the Inleyans returned promising to call off what they addressed as Old Ironsides if the city capitulated.    Old Ironsides had merely walked through the city but in the process destroyed many buildings by walking through them. While the city didn't initially cave by morning with half their city destroyed without Ironsides even outright attacking the gave. Batoor had joined the Inleyan Empire.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

He is mostly hollow save certain areas which have been reinforced to help him withstand landing. He is fairly slow but is still able to cover large areas of ground thanks to his sheer size. What few people have managed to touch him note that there is a thick layer of ash.

Body Features

He in certain ways resembles a man in armor due to the fact he technically is. These include gauntlets on his forearms and hands. The upper part of his chest resembles a breastplate with an epitaph of a dwarf. He has two belt buckles at his waist the only parts of the belts of giant strength that were not burned up.

Facial Features

His head resembles a bucket helm but smoother with four slits where the eyes would be.

Identifying Characteristics

He is not exactly easy to lose in a crowd. Things that separate him from the average Iron golem include the magical items attached to him and the heat he gives off along with a slight glow.

Physical quirks

The heat as mentioned he generates.

Special abilities

His construction already made him a force to be reckoned with with his upgrades he has a large variety of special abilities. These include becoming invulnerable to non-magical damage for a brief period of time, limited levitation, increased strength, magical barrier making him more difficult to damage, fire absorption, immunity to form alteration, healing factor, a breath attack that is both on fire and poisonous, and massive heat off put.

Apparel & Accessories

Other than the magical items that are now suffused to his body, he posses his flail. His fail is his weapon of choice it is about the size of a wrecking ball, with magical weapons being welded into it.

Specialized Equipment

If all of the magic items attached to him were removed and his flail taken he is similar to every Iron Golem ever constructed.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Prior to his discover his history is unknown but following his discovery he became a valued member of the Inleyan military. In 1168 his was given a modified locomotive engine with a giant cannon attached. The locomotive became his primary means of transportation and a method of launching himself over fortress walls. Eventually as a joke of some kind a person wrote "Yulia" on the side of the barrel of the cannon part. Given that Old Ironsides was rarely away from the cannon and now that it had a name others made the joke that it was his wife. The joke stuck and widely the locomotive became known as Yulia and eventually when it was taken in for maintenance the name was again painted on the barrel but more extravagantly.
