Sword of Arawynn

The Sword of Arawynn is an ancient family heirloom crafted nearly 3000 years ago, lastly wielded by Lyrea Aeriliya Arawynn. The sword was crafted by a master sword smith of the elven empire. The elven design favors slashing and nimble movements more than pure strength, it's said the sword is one of the most beautiful sword ever crafted. Along both sides of the blade decorative mithral is fused with the steel blade, this has not been possible by anyone else than the creator of this sword. The slightly curved middle portion of the blade allows for more control when parrying an attack, along with doing more slashing damage. The blade isn't known to be magical, only by proper maintenance both by the users and renowned smiths the blade has survived.

The sword is best known for being wielded by Lyrea Arawynn during the orc invasion followed few years after the God War. The sword was seen a a beacon of hope for the sentinels fighting back the orcs. Is told that the sword was the only reason along with Lyrea's superior leadership, that the sentinels lasted until reinforcements arrived.
It isn't known where the sword is today, yet most believe it to be either lost, buried with Lyrea herself or given to one of her children. Only warriors of the Arawynn family was allowed to pass down and receive the sword. Only very few members of the Arawynn family wasn't warriors, and both children of Lyrea choose different paths. This means it's unlikely they have the sword even though they are the last living Arawynns.

The wielder of this sword has always been granted great respect by the ones who recognize the sword.

Crafted with the finest steel this full tang short sword has an elaborate design along the blade and the handle is made from wood from a god tree. The decorations along the blade is made with mithral, this also keeps the weight of the blade down.
