Room 44
The first thing you notice is the unmistakeable smell of death. The room is dark, darker even than the dim corridor you're in, even the dull glow of the emergency lights obscured by whatever ghastly growths have colonised the walls and the ceiling. You can see bodies, at least six, all well and truly decomposed; the scraps of fabric suggest administrators and guards of various races. Rotting crates provide homes for novel types of fungi. These fungi spill outward from the gaps of the portculis, a clear source to the dangers of these lower levels. This, you know instinctively, was ground zero.
Purpose / Function
Best guesses suggest this was a temporary storage room/loading bay for non-magical cargo.
Entries
There's a portculis from a crossways corridor near the stern of the ship, and a locked steel door from the electrical room at the stern. The map indicates a third entry from room 45.
