The Prophecies of Anicet

The first Eternal Anicet was a great white feathered Dragon. A series of scrolls claimed to be written by Anicet contained Prophecies concerning the dragon war and other future events.

Summary

During the Early formation of Aldaria there lived in Yenma a white dragon which kept peace in the land. His wife, the first rider, Asuna was said to have travelled to the past to tell him of the future. He wrote her warnings in prophecies. There is some of the prophecies that had people sure that Anicet did not actually write them but his reincarnation, Atron Reu. Atron and Anicet looked very similar and like Anicet's wife, Atron could travel through time.

Historical Basis

Anicet was a real dragon and the brother of the second king of Aldaria. Whether he actually wrote any or all of the prophecies is contested.

Spread

The Prophecies of Anicet are known and collected by those dragons which are learned. Dragons who collect literature and scrolls often seek these scrolls for their collections.

Variations & Mutation

The legend concerning "The Fall of The Eternals" which relates to the prophesies of Anicet does have several variations. In some The two brothers kill each other and in others an unknown child seals the two brothers away with a sacred sealing sword. The unknown child versions are also how the Prophesies were preserved according to it as the child then takes the prophesies and distributes them for safe keeping.

Cultural Reception

Anicet and his legacy is so important in Yenma that to this day they have a yearly dragon festival. They also have tradition of leaving offerings to the wyverns just outside their lairs during festival month. This tradition dates back to when there were dragons in Yenma. In Aldaria Anicet is almost forgotten except by dragons. They hold the prophesies as sacred truths that promise their freedom and the end to the Dragon War.

In Literature

The first books about The Prophecies aside from Anicet's own written work were "The Histories of Lysandus" written by Mika Tsuki, the Priestess of Time. In Yenma there are poems and ballads involving the Prophecies and events foretold in them.
