DrakuMantari - Medication for Dragon Pox By Natas B. Kanosis
Introduction
Dragon Pox was a once dreaded viral disease which could only be treated by eating the mushroom like "plant" known as the Draku Pustuli Mantari. The quantities needed made recovery difficult and nearly drove the mushroom to extinction. After much research by renowned medical professionals, including myself, the compounds which were needed to hasten recovery from Dragon Pox has been synthesized and is distributable via a pill. This works well for those who have yet been able to receive inoculation against Dragon Pox.
In another article I will go in further detail about the vaccine inoculation which is in progress for Dragon Pox. Here I will simply cover how DrakuMantari works and was discovered.Utility
DrakuMantari is to be taken twice daily, 5 Mg usually at the first sign of Dragon Pox. Before DrakuMantari, as I said in the intro, dragon pox would kill dragons who were unable to find enough of the Draku Pustuli Mantari to eat. With the fungi nearly extinct scientists had to act fast to save both the dragons infected and the fungi which was now scarce in Lysandus.
Manufacturing
After the compounds are synthesized they are condensed in factory to 5, 10 and 20 mg pills.
Access & Availability
It is still under limited access but as the economy grows so will the funds needed to produce the medication and make it widespread in availability.
Complexity
Synthesizing the compounds required lab equipment, chemists and knowledge of chemistry, biology, and pill production. The effort that went into the research and testing of DrakuMantari required prior knowledge gained on the Mantari plants.
Discovery
The Students at the Institute of Drakonia Medical Research began research into Dragon Pox with no funding from the Aldarian Emperor, Gori, during his reign. They crowd funded the research and studied the effects of 10 different chemicals found in the Draku Pustuli Mantari. Two main compounds were found during the trials and lab tests to be antiviral.
