Isune

Isune, also known as The Huntress and The Moon Song is a deity of therianthropes, moonlight, hunting, and songs.

Appearance

Isune is often depicted as a vulsha-like woman, however, instead of the features of a fox, she instead resembles a wolf. Her hair is grey with hints of black and white and her eyes resemble moonlight with a faint glow in the darkness.

Commandments

  • Silver is the blight of the moon, disdain it and carry it only when necessary.
  • The hunt is ritual to determine a winner; in victory do not take for granted what you have won.
  • Songs tell stories, sing always, keep your head clear.

Worship

The worshippers of Isune often follow a number of practices relating to the goddess, some in odd and inconvenient ways. Many of her worshippers act as hunters and upon approaching settlements, especially ones with a variety of monster or beast problems, they are often met with great celebration. It is customary when paying one of her hunters for their assistance to pay them in copper or gold coins. This is because of the goddess' disdain for silver. She forbids her worshippers from using or wearing silver in any capacity, as such her followers must instead deal in copper and gold coins.   A curious aspect of the goddess' worship is her connection to song and music, her worshippers are encouraged to tell stories of the goddess and the history of their lands through song. Many of her stories have connections to the stories of Mirae, leading to many theories linking the two goddesses. Some theorize that they are two aspects, just like the therianthropes that worship Isune, others theorize that they are partners or lovers as a number of the stories linking them revolve around Mirae dancing to Isune's songs in some capacity.   A large number of her followers are also therianthropes and those who pact themselves with the goddess are said to become empowered. However, if a therianthrope ever breaks their pact with the goddess, they are forever banished from her grace and the goddess curses them herself, likely leading to a life of permanent and dangerous therianthrope. These pactbreakers are often hunted by the goddess' faithful.
