The Tower of Eyes

Written by MagicGeek123

The Tower could be seen for miles on end, and in return, the Tower could see for miles on end. It had an Eye for every man to ever walk upon the soil but the people knew this could not be true for it was said to have existed long before the rise of man and, as some claimed in hushed tones, would exist long after we drew our last breath. All had heard of it although few had ever seen it from beyond the mountains, never the less it saw them. It had seen everything from the first being to crawl from the sea, to the building of the first Oriculum city. It had been around when the Unseelie Fey sent their elf-kin to spread the influence of their court, and it had seen the first human drag himself from their terrible alchemical vats. It had seen many things and would see many more.

Purpose / Function

The true purpose has long since been forgotten but what it is used for now is as a tower capable of amplifying Divination in ways that were never thought possible. It allows users to see not only anywhere on Lutum but it also allows people to see any point in time. the capabilities of the Tower are limited only by the abilities of those using it and the amount of arcane energy that their bodies are capable of channeling.

Alterations

This Tower has never had any major alterations done to it and the only thing that has changed is the people and beings who have created their cities around it. It has never faced any major structural damages and every attempt by foreign militaries to bring it down have been complete failures. Anytime it has received damage substantial enough to mark its granite surface the damage seems to reknit itself drawing in materials from around it.

Architecture

The Tower of Eyes seems to extend beyond the clouds and at its base, it is nearly a mile wide. It Is a tall bleached granite tower with millions of closed eyes covering its surface in its entirety, these eyes while closed do still seem to move and flutter as if the Tower is dreaming. It rests within a small crater that is the result of the Tower using its surroundings to repair itself. The crater it rests in is covered in closed eyes aswell, yet these do not seem to be made of granite but instead of obsidian and these eyes do not move.

The center of the Tower contains a set of stairs that leads straits to the top yet does not curve and does not deviate from the center. There are many rooms within the tower but only 3 doors which lead to a different room each time. On several occasions, a young aspiring Diviner has decided they were ready to use the Tower and have walked into a room that has not been seen before or since, which has lead many of the Master diviners to believe it could have an infinite number of rooms.

History

This Tower is said to have risen from the foundations of Lutum during its creation and some believe that all the land that rises above the sea is a part of the Tower which is why it can be used to see anywhere that the light touches. During the Time of Emergence, when goblinoids first came to be, it was revered as a god and the belief from these primitive beings is thought to be part of the reason it gained some of its power. The first city of the Oriculum Dominion was built around it and it was the site of the Final Battle for Thrutguk between the Oriculum Dominion and the Unseelie Court. Many experiments and even the birth of the human race occurred in the laboratories the Unseelie Regime created underneath the Tower. After the hero Nikandrios The First Human slew many of the Unseelie Archfeyans and their court he built a city around the Tower to protect his and the Oriculum people's newfound freedom in the face of the Red Empire. After many thousands of years, the Tower still stands at the center of Kinhark: The First City Of Nilsof under the ownership of The Mighty and Everlasting Overlaird Matok the Overseer. He rules Nilsof and keeps his dominion safe using the information gleaned from the All-Seeing Tower.
