Metriash

Metriash is a theocratic sovereign state, completely under the military protection of The Republic of Adria. Athexand, the capital of Metriash, serves as the center of the Ikeran priesthood, thus making the Republic entirely reliant on Metriash for magical protection from The Dim via The Night Veil. This has resulted in an imperfect but effective joint government of the two entities. The Ikerans also provide protection to The Kyrtesian Commonwealth to the east, despite its de facto separation from Adria. Metriashi-Adrian tensions have been on a slow but steady rise for many years over this arrangement.
