Dured Hill

Dured Hill is a small line city on the The Main Line of Adria. It is the smallest of the Main Line cities, but is, categorically, heavily fortified nonetheless. Southeast of town lies the small Rutters Lake, whose soft banks prevent building directly nearby but is otherwise pleasant and picturesque. From the lake flows Rutside Run, which leads some 50 miles east of the Line to the mighty Kinmouth River.


The North Ward is the residential area for the (relatively) wealthy and officers, and has some small amount of accordingly-classed commerce.
The Southern Borough is the lower class residential region, housing the city's blue collar workers and enlisted.
The Industrial Quarter is predominantly infrastructure supporting the Line, including armories, foundries, depots, and the like. There are also a few shops for low- to middle-class commerce.
Hawker's Row is a smattering of dwellings and ramshackle market stalls - some permanent and some transitory, along the Line road leading north out of town. The people who live here generally do so to hawk their wares on a temporary basis before moving on to seek new clientele.
The Dured Garrison is situated near where the Line road enters the southern edge of the city, and always houses numerous military personnel who are on duty but not actively patrolling the Night Walls.
The Dured Hill Town Square is situated near the center of the city, just south and in front of Town Hall. It is primarily a place of gathering, but an open mall of sorts leads eastward from the Square, through the North Ward, to the eastern edge of town.
Far northwest of town, just inside the Walls, lie the Dured Hill Burial Grounds. These are used for those fallen in combat and of natural causes alike, though the former receive special honor.
