Tumanor

A feast of giving and generosity named for a legendary gnomish bard. Gnomes give a gift of great value to someone they respect, and most make a point to get smaller gifts for other people close to them, to show respect and appreciation for their presence in the gnome's life.

History

This tradition is really old and has been celebrated from ancient times by both forest and rock gnomes. The exact origins of the tradition are not clear, but the story goes that the bard Tumanor once started spreading gifts of personal value to the people in harsh times. This thoughtful sign inspired other gnomes to gift the ones in need. Over time the tradition changed and people started to gift the people they respected and found worthy of a valuable gift.

Execution

The tradition is fairly loose and often basic. Gifts can be given any time of day, but have to be of personal value. Often they are self-made gifts that may have multiple-days work in them. It is not appreciated by many to just buy an expensive gift without any meaningful value. Many families like to sit together at evening and deliver each other gifts, though it may also happen in the morning.
