Nelcean Insurgency

The Nelcean Insurgency is a rebellion on the continent of Xuslon that has taken control of most of the Windswept Plains about two years ago. It is led by Warlord Ricio Nelcea, one time general of the army of the Aervia Kingdom. The Aervia Kingdom was always kind to the orcs of the Swamps of Urshok, ensuring that trade was kept flowing and that no invasions planned, making sure that the orcs were kept safe. Nelcea, however, disagreed with this, and, at the quiet behest of Emperor Ardus Kaine, forcibly overthrew the Kingdom, plunging it into chaos and seizing power for himself. Now, they have set up strongholds around the kingdom to defend against the rest of the Hyperion Empire, as Nelcea reneged on the promises he made to the Emperor and has sought to make the kingdom his own. There are plans for them to move into the Swamps and wipe out the orcs, thereby both expanding their territory and creating a more defensible position on the opposite side of Athasor's Rise. Rumors, however, of an undead army getting ready to surge across the land has put the soldiers on guard, and they are hesitant about moving into the Swamps of Urshok and risk the possibility of being trapped by a horde.
Currently, the capital has been set up in the Nelcean Stronghold near the base of Athasor's Rise. It is a fort on the Untol River, its walls made of a black stone taken from underneath the mountains. Its spires pierce the air and are an imposing site that can be seen from miles away. It is located close to the Swamps of Urshok, serving as a launching ground for a potential invasion against the orc tribes. Warlord Nelcea has been heavily recruiting soldiers for his army and amassing them at the various strongholds in preparation for the greatest war of his life.
