Deities of Control

A subsection deity that exists to control pieces of the mortal worlds. The deities of control are septadimensional, are millions in number and live in The Realm of Etherea. There are millions of worlds that exist out there, and for every world that exists there are things to control. This is what the deities do.   The level of control varies from each deity. Many deities just watch, while some control every aspect of a world. And then there are other deities that control things from time to time. It is all up to the deity's choice. This choice is can define whole worlds, or sometimes even the nature of entire realms.   The birth of a new deity means the birth of something new in the world of a realm, somewhere out there.

Naming Traditions

Unisex names

Since sex is completely redefined in the The Realm of Etherea, there is not sex to any name. The sex of a deity is defined by their name, which they get to choose at their own creation.    The role and sex of a deity relies on every letter of a deity's name. In mortal terms, deity names are incredibly long and incomprehensible - which is why mortal's assign them simpler names. Every letter in these names is intensely vital to the role of a deity, but the system that this is based off of is not understood by any mortal. Some deities of told that it correlates to a name's energy.

Culture

Major language groups and dialects

The deities speak their own deitic language, which has been heard many times but has never been deciphered. This language has been mortally dubbed as Deitic.

Culture and cultural heritage

The deities of control have existed for over 40 million years, and don't seem to have any place of stopping. The first realm's creation was attributed to the birth of the first deity, as well as the first source of life in The Collective Universe of Plains and Worlds.

Shared customary codes and values

The deities of control value their inhabitance of mortal realms. They control all things known to mortals and are therefore tied to them in their identities. This is not a code rather than a state of life. The Realm of Etherea relies on Mortals to form substance - so controlling these realms is nothing more than keeping their realm in tact.

Art & Architecture

Their world is built out of the minds and knowledge of mortals, and is shaped by it as well. The harboring of mortals is their architecture - which they shape at their will however they want.

Birth & Baptismal Rites

The creation of a deity of control is heralded with much respect and celebration in mortal worlds and in the The Realm of Etherea. While many deities are created without the knowledge of mortals, not deity is ever created without the deities being made aware of it. There is a naming ceremony in which the deity chooses its name, and thus its purpose and sex as well.

Coming of Age Rites

The deities don't just jump into creation and control without any heralding. The deities often plan their path with their realm of control and build relationships with other deities long before they start to control their path. This allows the deity's path to run without fail and with full effect in the mortal world. This preparation can take millions of years - as it did with The Overseer.

Funerary and Memorial customs

Deities die quite often. These deaths are met with profound sorrows, and often the ending of worlds or even realms. Oftentimes the mortals are too rash, and create chaos in a world - killing it and the deity with it. Often deities clash and make enemies - even engaging in ethereal war.  Whatever the case, the death of a deity is memorialized with respect and beauty - and mortals will often feel this memorial through world events - such as an eclipse or even spoken words across the lands.   Many mortals have paid for the death of deities through eternal damnation. Despite the strength of deities, mortal control can be difficult and many mortals create far too much chaos than can be controlled.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

The deities can choose their appearance, and it usually correlates to their functionality as a deity. The Overseer is made completely of eyeballs, which correlates to its functionality. It meticulously watches the continent, so its eyes are vital to its existence.   Deities have control over all of their features and their physical appearance is no different.

Gender Ideals

Sex and gender are of a completely different definition to deities. It belongs to purpose, and is not defined by the innate nature of a deity. Instead, the deity can choose their own sex through the naming process that they go through upon creation. The purpose and definition of sex is completely unknown to mortals as these septadimensional beings have far more understanding of existence than we do.

Courtship Ideals

Deities do not court. There is no ceremony. A deity falling in love is a scared thing, and does not need any ceremony beyond the own emotion that follows it.

Relationship Ideals

Deities do often fall in love and form relationships. This can often lead to harmony between mortal aspects. For example the binding of Crismalia with Mortal Life is said to be the result of The Overseer falling in love with the deity of mortal control.   Deities can fall out of love too, and their relationships are often short - only a few thousand years - before they move on.
